Drake – “Fear” Single

I held tight to my Drake hate as I loaded this song up for the first time. I figured I was in for another Auto Tune-laced track from America’s favorite Canadian rapper named Aubrey, and judging from the title, I imagined lyrics rife with references about haters. Maybe a bouncy track about how he doesn’t fear anything or how the game needs to fear him.
…I got none of that, and was pleasantly surprised. Have a listen.

Shouts out to Little Brother & Slum Village? Minimal Auto-Tune usage? I might actually have to cop Drake’s LP if he drops joints like this consistently.

Yeah… I’m still on the fence… but I get the feeling he’s gonna surprise some folk with the album. I think it’s one of those things where he comes in being compared (like lots of new artists usually do) but he’s gonna end up doin’ alright and holding his own…
