Dilla Foundation, which works toward finding a cure for Lupus. Doors open at 10PM, but early arrival is suggested, as there is limited room & this show is guaranteed to fill up quick. Hosted by Detroit’s own Guilty Simpson, live art by bluntedonreality’s favorite artist, Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, and music spun by DJs ?uestlove (of the Legendary Roots Crew), Brainchild, Parler, Low-Key & Tara. Two-thirds of Digable Planets, Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler & Craig “Doodlebug” Irving will be touring the East Coast in mid-October. The kick-off show will take place in Brooklyn, NY at Southpaw on October 13th at 8:00PM (buy tickets here), and then move to the 941 Theater in Philadelphia on October 14th at 8:00PM (buy tickets here).

Unless you were under a rock in 1993, you’re familiar with such hits as “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” and “Where I’m From”. The Philadelphia-based trio attained both underground & mainstream success with their debut album Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time & Space), and followed it up in 1994 with the under-appreciated classic Blowout Comb.
